GIC 2017

Chapin UMC is singularly focused on reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and globally.  This vision is activated through our Giving of financial resources to missionaries and missions organizations committed to the same vision; and by Going, that is sending our church members to the mission field via prayer and short term trips.  Our global outreach highlight each year is our Global Impact Celebration (GIC).  This year’s GIC will be held September 28th through October 1st.  During this long weekend, we will host our missionaries and partnered missions organizations and celebrate all that the Lord has done in and through them and us over the past year.

This four day event provides amazing opportunities for our church family to learn about the work of each missionary, hear their stories, share in their victories and disappointments, minister to them and their families, allow them to minister to us, and develop deeper relationships and partnerships.  We encourage every member of Chapin UMC and any interested guests or visitors to come be a part of this exciting week in the life our church!

Our theme this year is “Saved to Serve”, where we will highlight the impact of poverty on our world and how it relates to evangelistic efforts.  We are excited to be hosting Todd Phillips, author of “Get Uncomfortable” and founder of The Last Well, an organization committed to bringing clean water and the gospel to all of Liberia by 2020.

In addition, we will be hosting an Impact Poverty Challenge for our entire church family the week of September 18-23 2017.  Six days – Six dollars – UNLIMITED IMPACT!  Click Here to read more and join the challenge.

Please join us the weekend of 28 September – 1 October 2017.  It will be challenging, life-changing, and inspiring!
