Chapin United Methodist Church shares their Christmas spirit with the W.A.R.M Project.
“W.A.R.M” stands for Weatherization and Repair Ministry. It’s purpose is to reach those in need who are in the Chapin, SC community and surrounding area with Christ’s love, by making much needed repairs on their homes – repairs they cannot afford or are not able to make themselves. With the W.A.R.M Project, the labor and materials for those repairs are gifts, a paying forward of God’s unconditional love.
Christmas is a time of sharing with those less fortunate during the holiday season. Serving with the W.A.R.M project is a great opportunity to give the gift of home repair while sharing God’s love – all without costing you anything but time. CUMC hosts the W.A.R.M. Project (Weatherization and Repair Ministry), over a 2 day event the week following Christmas for the Chapin area.
For 2014, we had 67 volunteers who impacted homes and lives by providing a new roof for a family, repaired holes in a Korean War Veteran’s kitchen floor, built much needed ramps, addressed numerous plumbing issues, etc., just to name a few. The time for the W.A.R.M Project was chosen because schools are closed, allowing youth participation, and many folks are able to be off from work during the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Way to go W.A.R.M Missionaries!
